Christmas 2011 is over but we will leave this page live until Disney Christmas 2012 approaches so that Disney world Florida fans can see what will be potentially available later this year at which time we will update the page.
canThe long dark-nights are with us and the cold winter weather season is upon us so what more enjoyable a thought than a Walt Disney Florida Christmas Holiday? The Orlando, Florida temperature during your Disney World Christmas holiday usually varies between a more comfortable high of 73 deg F (23 C) and a low of 51 deg F (11 C) when sunrise is 6.40am and sunset 5.30pm.
“Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” is a special event held each winter in Magic Kingdom theme park, when it is at its most colourful, in Walt Disney World Orlando, Florida. On selected nights commencing Tuesday 8th November 2011 until Sunday 18th December 2011 between 7pm and midnight guests who hold tickets for this WDW Christmas celebration are treated to the magic of the season in Disney’s holiday wonderland!
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party features:
This is an extremely busy time of the year at Disney World in Florida with some of the longest waiting times and biggest crowds. To maximise your enjoyment check event programme times for many are repeated including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade where the second one is normally less crowded.
Disney World Christmas and Disney World New Year in the theme parks is full of excitement and people enjoying themselves with Magic Kingdom’s special event a natural a target. It can therefore be a good time to make the most of the other theme parks for they all have something special to offer at this time of year.
Typically on offer during the Christmas and New Year holiday season at Walt Disney World Orlando Florida as well as the normal attractions: -
the must see 5 million Christmas lights evening display of the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights which is held in the Streets of America backlot from 10th November 2011 through till 7th January 2012. Amazing decorations are everywhere to view and larger than normal crowds enjoy every minute.
The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is included with standard admission to Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park.
The crowds are a little smaller during the evening when visitors flock to Magic Kingdom providing an opportunity to enjoy the colourful displays of seasonal decorations, to listen to the choral groups who perform festive favourites or to watch the sensational live entertainment. World Showcase holds a ‘Holidays Around the World’ celebration when guests can meet Santa Claus in the American Adventure showcase and listen to storytellers recount legends from around the world. The ‘Candlelight Processional’ held in the America Gardens Theatre features a mass choir and 50-piece orchestra accompanied by celebrity narrators retelling the story of Christmas and is held from 25 November till 30 December 2011.
A 65-foot tree sparkles at the entrance to the theme park setting the scene for a daily holiday safari with “Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade” held from 10 November 2011 till 3 January 2012. At Camp Minnie-Mickey Disney characters dressed in their holiday best meet with guests as carollers sing seasonal classics at Santa Goofy’s Holiday Village.
Festival of the Seasons is held from 9 November 2011 till 8 January 2012 in the Downtown Disney area.

Other Orlando Florida Treats.
A holiday at Disney World in Orlando Florida provides a chance to explore what is on offer in the area where so much entertainment is available. There are alot more Florida theme parks nearby and most of it within striking distance of International Drive. The nearby Universal Studios, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Seaworld all offer their own special seasonal festive programmes and are worthy of a visit.
Alternative seasonal attractions in addition to Disney theme parks can be found at: • Gaylord Palms Resort where rooms full of hand made ice carvings are on display. This year from 16 November 2011 till 2 January 2012 ICE!™ at Gaylord Palms features Dreamworks' Shrek the Halls™
• Celebration Florida for the annual month long “Snowing” winter wonderland spectacular.
• Bok Tower Gardens Christmas at Pinewood which begins the day after Thanksgiving lasting for 5 weeks. The 20-room Mediterranean-style mansion is transformed into a holiday showcase by interior designers and 200 volunteers.
• Light Up UCF: Each year between November and early January at Knights Plaza in the University of Central Florida an outdoor ice rink is built where nightly events are hosted to celebrate the Christmas holiday season. A free high tech light show “Light Up UCF” is held consisting of over 75,000 lights dancing over Knights Plaza to the accompaniment of holiday music and live concerts. A holiday film festival, rides and attractions also form part of the event.
