Florida's water parks

The sunny weather is one of the main reasons that Florida remains such a popular destination for domestic and international tourists alike. But during the summer months, it can get so hot that you can’t help but want to splash around in some water, just to cool down. It not surprising, then, that Florida is home to some of the most impressive water parks to be found anywhere in addition to Walt Disney World Orlando's Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Here are just a few of the best Florida Attractions with Attractiontix.

Adventure Island – Tampa

This adventure-themed water park is certainly not short of water-based thrills, packed as it is to the gills with crazy rides with names such as Aruba Tuba, Caribbean Corkscrew, Splash Attack, and Runaway Rapids. Adrenaline junkies can get their kicks by sliding down a sheer 210 foot drop at more than twenty five miles an hour, whereas families can enjoy a shared thrill down the six stories of turns and twists that make up the Wahoo run. It’s not all white-knuckle stuff, though, with more serene inner tube rides available around the Rambling Bayou or Paradise Lagoon ensuring that Adventure Island is truly a water park with a wide appeal.

Aquatica - SeaWorld Orlando

Opened in April 2008, Aquatica is Florida’s newest water park and is certainly one of the most impressive. This water park is unique in that it offers aquatic wildlife viewing opportunities alongside all the usual water park thrills and spills. Perhaps the most impressive ride is the Dolphin Plunge, a fast flowing underwater fantasia in which you slide down a clear plastic tube with dolphins and whales swimming all around you.

Rapids Water Park - West Palm Beach

This water park offers some real thrill rides amongst some of Florida’s most spectacular natural scenery. Experience the thrill of the storm inside the Tubin’ Tornadoes, hang ten in the Big Surf Wave Pool, or relax on a smooth sailing river ride. There are plenty rides for younger kids, too, with the Tadpool wading pool for toddlers, and Alligator Alley and Splish Splash for children between the ages of four and ten.

Wild Waters - Silver Springs - Ocala

Wild Waters, based in North Florida, can offer something for all the family, with a wave pool, flumes, splash pools, and waterslides as well as a fake swimming beach, and a multi-level fun area for younger children known as Cool Kids Cove, which features water animal rides, a wading area, and water cannons.
