Pinocchio.

The 2nd film Walt Disney's Animated Classics series Pinocchio was made after the success of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and was released to cinemas in 1940. The film involves a wooden puppet named Pinocchio being brought to life by a blue fairy, who tells him he can become a real boy if he proves himself "brave, truthful, and unselfish". The puppet's adventures to become a real boy then begin, which involve many encounters with a host of unsavoury characters.
It all starts when Jiminy Cricket walks into the workshop of the woodworker Geppetto to warm himself from the cold and notices a puppet Geppetto is working on. Geppetto names the puppet Pinocchio and goes to bed and wishes upon a falling star in the sky that Pinocchio could be a real boy. During the night while everybody is sleeping Jiminy, unable to sleep, notices a Blue light drawing near. The Blue Fairy enters the room and she makes Pinocchio come alive with the flick of her wand. The fairy tells Pinocchio that if he wants to change from being a wooden puppet to a real boy of flesh and blood he must prove himself to be brave, truthful and unselfish and able to tell right from wrong. The Blue Fairy then gives Jiminy the official title of acting as Pinocchio's conscience and offers to give him a golden badge along a he helps Pinocchio learn what it means to be a good boy. Then as she vanishes she reminds Pinocchio 'be a good boy and always let your conscience be your guide'.
Geppetto discovers that his wish has come true, and is filled with joy. The next day, he sends Pinocchio on his first day of school with some books over his shoulder and an apple in his hand. But Pinocchio is lead astray by the deceiving Honest John and Gideon who convince him to join Stromboli's puppet show instead of going home. Pinocchio becomes Stromboli's star attraction, but Stromboli keeps Pinocchio locked in a cage so he can not leave. With the help of the Blue Fairy and Jiminy, Pinocchio escapes and so begins Pinocchio's adventure to get home.

Lyrics for the songs.

Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee.
Hi-diddle-dee-dee
An actor's life for me
A high silk hat and a silver cane
A watch of gold with a diamond chain
Hi-diddle-dee-day
An actor's life is gay
It's great to be a celebrity
An actor's life for me
Hi-diddle-dee-dum
An actor's life is fun
Hi-diddle-dee-dee
An actor's life for me
A wax mustache and a beaver coat
A pony cart and a billy goat
Hi-diddle-dee-dum
An actor's life is fun
You wear your hair in a pompadour
You ride around in a coach and four
You stop and buy out a candy store
An actor's life for me!

I've Got No Strings.
Pinocchio: I've got no strings
To hold me down
To make me fret, or make me frown
I had strings
But now I'm free
There are no strings on me

Hi-ho the me-ri-o
That's the only way to go
I want the world to know
Nothing ever worries me

I've got no strings
So I have fun
I'm not tied up to anyone
They've got strings
But you can see
There are no strings on me

Dutch puppet: You have no strings
Your arms is free
To love me by the Zuider Zee
Ya, ya, ya
If you would woo
I'd bust my strings for you

French puppet: You've got no strings
Comme ci comme ca
Your savoire-faire is ooh la la!
I've got strings
But entre nous
I'd cut my strings for you

Russian puppet: Down where the Volga flows
There's a Russian rendezvous;
Where me and Ivan go
But I'd rather go with you, hey!

Give a Little Whistle.
When you get in trouble and you don't know right from wrong
Give a little whistle!  Give a little whistle!
When you meet temptation and the urge is very strong
Give a little whistle!  Give a little whistle!
Not just a little squeak, pucker up and blow
And if your whistle's weak, yell, "Jiminy Cricket!"
Right!
Take the straight and narrow path
And if you start to slide
Give a little whistle!  Give a little whistle!
And always let your conscience be your guide

When You Wish Upon a Star.
When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Fate is kind
She brings to those to love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing
Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true
